Do you dream of becoming South Africa’s next innovator or business tycoon?

Then look no further than the Idea > Create Student Innovation Competition.

An initiative of the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), the competition calls for all CPUT students to enter their innovative idea, prototype, design, and project or business plan.

Winners stand a chance of walking away with up to R20 000 in prize money as well as assistance from the TTO in developing their ideas into products or start-up enterprises.

Launched 5 years ago, competition facilitator Halimah Rabiu says the initiative has unlocked the innovation potential of a large number of CPUT students.

A large number have gone on to develop their ideas into products or services that have found their way into the local and international market, while several have seen their products patented.

Rabiu urges all students to take up the challenge and enter this year’s competition.

The competition closes 31 July 2016.
