Online Residence Registration

STUDENT LIFE & RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

The department of Student Life & Residential Services has embarked on an Online Residence Registration and Application project which will be phased in during 2020.

Objectives of the project:

  • To improve the turnaround time for processing residence applications and registrations.
  • To improve turnaround time for providing feedback to prospective applicants for residences.
  • To improve the turnaround time for residence allocations.
  • To integrate with other online processes.
  • To expand digital capabilities for students.

Phase one of the project is the Online Residence Registration process, which will commence as from the 13th of January 2020 until the 24th of January 2020. Phase 2, which is the Online Residence Application process, which will commence as from May 2020 for the 2021 intake.

The Online Residence Registration process is open to all returning students who resided in a CPUT Residence during the 2019 academic year.

Students who are unable to register online during the above specified dates, need to make use of the traditional manual registration process, by registering at the Residence allocated to them for the 2020 academic year.

Note to all First year students – Due to the Online Residence Registration process being a pilot project, 1st year students will not be able to register online for a Residence for the 2020 academic year. First year students should check their Residence status on SOS, and if allocated a Residence, they can proceed to the allocated Residence by the earliest 18 January 2020.
