A three-year partnership with a San youth empowerment project has yielded another positive outcome - an art exhibition of prints produced by the students. The exhibition, entitled Recollection: voices of the San youth, was opened by Dean of Informatics and Design Faculty, Prof Johannes Cronje earlier this month.

The creative juices have been flowing in the Chemical Engineering Department where first year students have created eye-catching displays to draw attention to the water crisis.

The idea of a waterless carwash business to help locals save water to delay Day Zero impressed judges of the CPUT Water Pitch Challenge who agreed it is an innovative solution to the current water crisis.

Academic’s PhD a first for SA

A CPUT academic has become the first person in South Africa to earn a PhD in Forensic Medicine and his work is helping to improve the forensic accountability with which emergency care providers respond to victims of gender-based violence.

A third-year Accounting student and activist, who is passionate about human rights, will be jetting off to Lagos, Nigeria this weekend after being selected for theCANVASSITY Pan African Youth Democracy Fellowship.
