Absa Cape Epic glory for CPUT

It’s been a tough week for five members of the CPUT community. Staffers Etienne Joubert and Etnard Louw, alumni Sarita Louw and Seraj Abrahams, and student Mteza Boya have spent the past 8 days competing in the Absa Cape Epic, Africa’s toughest mountain bike stage race.

From hosting open days to rolling out online advertising campaigns, the CPUT Marketing and Communication Department is leading the way in the higher education sector.

Shahieda Hendricks, Manager: Staff Development and Training, was recently appointed to serve on the National Skills Authority (NSA) which advises Higher Education and Training Minister, Dr Blade Nzimande.

Academics pen CPUT’s digital stories

Telling Stories Differently: Engaging 21st century students through Digital Storytelling

CPUT academics launched a book about using digital storytelling at CPUT at the recent international 9th Pan African and 10th Reading Association of South Africa Literacy conference at the Baxter Theatre.

The CPUT Marketing and Communication Department (MCD) has accepted a challenge posed by the university’s Executive Management and is now urging all other departments to do the same.

After almost 12 years of experience in small restaurants, industrial kitchens, teaching culinary studies at universities and colleges, a CPUT lecturer has penned his first recipe book.

The Department of Emergency Medical Sciences has heeded the global call for humanitarian assistance in Nepal.
