Alumna Anesca is a power woman

Alumna Anesca Smith is making waves in the Netherlands where she recently scooped the Public Vote in the 99 PowerVrouwen Award (PowerWomen) for her business, We Be Sisters.

For the first ten years of working in the IT department at the then Peninsula Technikon, Liezel Ijambo was the only woman in a team of about ten men.

CPUT celebrates teaching excellence

Teaching and Learning enjoyed centre stage recently when the university, for the first time, honoured recipients of in-house as well as external teaching awards at one event.

CPUT lecturers have contributed their own time and skills to assist disadvantaged individuals empower themselves with a saleable skill.

A project, which was initiated by a CPUT lecturer and focuses on the 50th commemoration of District Six being declared a whites-only area, continues to gain exposure.

Two academics in the Faculty of Education have contributed two chapters to a textbook which introduces prospective teachers to children’s literature and details how children can be encouraged to become enthusiastic readers.
